In her new role, De Vito has been given “the task of leading the style office in the creation of the ready-to-wear and women’s accessories collections, as well as overseeing the brand in line with the group’s strategic direction,” the house said in a release Tuesday.
De Vito will report to Aldo Gotti, CEO of the Fabiana Filippi Group, and will present her first collection in September 2023, during the next women’s ready-to-wear Fashion Week in Milan.
Lucia joins the house after an impressive career, which has seen her hold senior positions in such prestigious brands as Jil Sander, Valentino, Chloé and Pucci.
“We are delighted that Lucia is joining Fabiana Filippi, and we are confident that she will lead the creative team with a clear and unique vision. Her valuable experience will be fundamental in defining this further evolution in our brand’s history,” said founders and owners Mario and Giacomo Filippi Coccetta.
Added De Vito: “I am proud to be joining a brand whose values I share and which over the years has been able to build on an ideal of authentic, essential femininity, expressed with intelligence and elegance. I participate enthusiastically in this project, ready to offer my experience and my idea of creativity, made up of continuous contaminations between art, fashion and design.”
Fabiana Filippi was founded in 1985 in Giano dell’Umbria, 30 km south of Perugia, the principal city of the Umbria region, where it has a factory. The company boasts annual turnover of some 70 million euros. It is distributed in 30 countries through 40 single-brand points of sale (between boutiques and shop-in-shops and franchises) and via some 1,200 multi-brand customers.
Commented Aldo Gotti, CEO of Fabiana Filippi: “38 years after its foundation, Fabiana Filippi continues its evolution, both creatively and stylistically. Lucia will know how to be the interpreter of its history, leading the brand towards a contemporary narrative, strong in its modern vision of design and femininity.”
